The then curate, Fr. D.J. Mc Caffery, began a church building programme in 1937. With the support of all creeds and classes, Fr. Mc Caffery organised concerts, bazaars, whist drives, dances etc. On Sunday 19th October 1941, at a cost of £12,000.00 and with the entire burden of debt cleared, the greatest part of this borne by the parishioners themselves, this church of St. Patrick’s was dedicated. It now stands as a monument in stone to the living faith of your ancestors. It is the third Church to stand on this site in over 250 years of worship.
